From Rappler - Pope Francis meet youth at UST

Pope crosses the Arch of Centuries and later meets the other religious leaders from other sects.

Pope Francis  (Jorge) left at about 10:00 am this morning leaving joy and hope and renewed pride in Christianity, our faith, and numerous lessons that we have forgotten.  He was most cogent and spontaneous as he reacted to several speakers:   former street children, law student, IT students, as he spoke before the youth some 12 to 16t of them as per estimate of Fr. Lombardi.  He spoke spontaneously, in Spanish, his native tongue, saying that reality is superior to the paper

1.  Know what you lack.  Be humble to know what you lack

2.  What do you lack?

   In reference to brain thinking:

  1.  to think
  2.  to love
  3.  to act

all in harmony.

3.  About exposure to many information in the IT age:

be a repository of facts and but who acts on this facts; otherwise you just become a dead museum at a very young age. (In reference to be somebody who just watch things happen;  WE MUST MAKE THINGS HAPPEN - BEING PROACTIVE

So much talk about compassion have been useless

4.  You must be able to love and be loved in return.  In order to understand mercy and compassion, you must be ready to accept love --> meaning you must learn how to ask, how to beg and that requires great humility.

The poor have so much to teach us (especially those who live in comfort)

5.  As he reacted to the girl, a former street child, who cried unable to control herself, and say what she wanted to say, Pope Francis, we can only understand some unexplainable things, if we wash away our eyes with tears and then we can see clearly.  To be Christians we must learn how to shed tears as Jesus Christ:

      1. Wept when his friend Lazarus died

      2.  When he reached a town that had no pastor

      3.   When he visited a family that had to bury its dead.

      4.  When he visited a family whose child died.

6.  We must allow ourselves at times to be surprised by God (with an accident, a bolt of lightning, crashing in a bike ride, being sick etc)

Others:

He again called for return to integrity which is a challenge to many leaders, even in the church

In the mass at Luneta, a celebration of mass for Sto Nino he advised us to take care of our children because they are gift to us (he refers maybe to even abortion, street children)

We are Gods family

We are Gods children
