Mandaluyong sets up a Garden of Life Park

Holy Gardens Memorial Park - A Special Place for Remembering Loved Ones

From Philstar
By Non Alquitran

The city of Mandaluyong under Mayor BenhurAbalos upgraded its public cemetery into a one stop shop to accommodate the ever growing number of people needing the burial services.  The 2.7 hectare former cemetery now boasts of a crematorium, ossuary, bone crypts and private apartments.

It has been renamed Garden of Life Park

The article claims the park to be the first of its kind in the PHL ( in fairness, Cainta under Mon Ilagan beat them by about two weeks) The occupancy is limited to five years lease to give chance to everybody.

CBCP urges construction of more public cemeteries

Holy Gardens Memorial Park - A Special Place for Remembering Loved Ones

From Philstar

CBCP urges the construction of more public cemeteries to solve the perennial overcrowding and chaos during All Saints Day celebration.

But Paul Alcazaren in his recent article calls for two major improvements:  l.  integrating passenger bus terminal, train, and airline at the NAIA area.   Traffic jams at Cubao and SLEX can be lessenned; and 2 redesign of cemeteries parks and high rise.   Read Paulo Alcazaren article

What do you think?  Is building more public cemeteries the answer?

Cremation on the rise

Holy Gardens Memorial Park - A Special Place for Remembering Loved Ones

From Philstar

Officers of two leading and oldest memorial parks in the country sees growing trend in cremation as the preferred way to go.  6 out of 10 deceased now prefer the cremation way, instead of the usual/traditional burial.  The primary reason is that it is cheap.  Direct cremation is the cheapest form of memorialization.   Costs can be kept well below P20t vs. P50t with casket, wake, and 5 year lease in municipal or Catholic cemeteries.

Most funeral parlors now have crematorium.  They are quick and fast and cheap;  use two burners and diesel and are clean burning and non polluting.

Holy Gardens Memorial Park have one such machine as early as 2008 and offered one of the cheapest at 18t/remains.  We look forward to having one in La Union, Pangasinan, and Calamba Holy Gardens.

From Paulo Alcazaren - Improvement on All Saints Day Celebration

Holy Gardens Memorial Park - A Special Place for Remembering Loved Ones

Paolo Alcazaren suggests better ways of celebrating All Saints Day: (We just recently saw the nightmare and headaches that went with this last Nov. l.)

l.  Terminal facilities at Naia for train, bus, and airlines;   this would solve congestions for buses and roads leading to cemeteries;

2.  Muti level body crypts cemeteries.  They now have this a La Loma.   A certain well known architect and I are planning for this in Bicutan to help solve congestion.  A high rise cemetery

Better All Saints Day celebration

Holy Gardens Memorial Park - A Special Place for Remembering Loved Ones

We look at the following improvements next year:

l.  More and better toilet facilities for Calapan, Oton and La Union

2. Wi fi

3.   Concessionaires (better food facilities)

4.  Communication of sales and promos

Promos were not well communicated?

Holy Gardens Memorial Park - A Special Place for Remembering Loved Ones

Holy Gardens Memorial Park has a number of promos especially for November l (All Saints Day)  I suppose they were not promoted well:

l.  EDP  (extended down payment)

2.  GC for P2,500.00 for single payment

3.  Gadget gift for 4 ash crypts; (worth P11,000)

4.  Gadget gift for 2 lawn lots (worth P8,000)

5.  Special lots for sale at entrance (Panga and Calamba)

6.  Pabongga bonanza

Observations on Saints Day Celebration

Holy Gardens Memorial Park - A Special Place for Remembering Loved Ones

We could have done better for all Saints Day last November l, if:

1.  We did all things early; (everything was done on the last day)

      l.  Approval of promos;

      2.  Printing of tarpaulin

      3.  Communication with agents

2.  The communication was better between 3ffb and the SBU

3.  Uniqcsx was done promptly

We should be able to follow up all our reservations and other prospects
