Words to say to someone grieving; what not to say too

Holy Gardens Memorial Park - A Special Place where our Loved Ones are Remembered in a Special Way

From Love to know death and dying

Keep it short and simple.  The grieving person is not prepared for a long missive.  Example of what to say:

. I am sorry

. He will be missed

. He is in my thoughts and prayers

.  Blessings

.  Condolences

.  Do you want to tell me about....? (the deceased)

What to avoid:

(How often we say this!!)

.  He is in a better place now...

.  It is time to move on...

.  He is no longer suffering

.  He is now in heaven

.  He is with God now...

.  You can find new love, new baby
