For two years, celebrate was our motto/theme for Holy Gardens Memorial Park. With this theme, we remove the sadness and negative feeling associated with memorial park. We wish to celebrate the love and affection of our loved ones who are gone at the memorial park. They are not gone, they are with us. Their physical body may be gone but their love and memory stay with us.
More than that, their internment should not be a time for sadness - it should be a time for joy and jubilation. As in the jubilee of the ancient jews. The time when the spirit of the person returns to the womb of the creator should be a happy occasion. Therefore interments at Holy Gardens are intended to be happy and joyful, hence we have the motifs (themes) to make the interments colorful and memorable. Then we have the memory display (the stuff, the momentos of the the deceased are displayed prominently so that the conversation shall revolve on life of the beloved rather than the earthly remains (which can be sordid). We also have the electronic tribute (video, powerpoint, moviemaker, slideshow which we try to upload at slideshare, you tube and daily motion). Death of the loved one, after all is a reunion with the long unseen loved ones. And as a practice, we Filipinos lessen the group with songs, games, gambling, even concerts and less on lamentations and crying.
More than anything else, we do not want our friends to die (although today, l000 would not wake up, about 400,000 die every year in the Philippines). That is why in the blogroll at right, we have shared many articles on health and longevity. We must live longer, eat healthy food, exercise, so that we will be a blessing to others. We are blessed to be a blessing to others.
WE CELEBRATE LIFE
