According to Mr. Jose, a leading expert in memorialization, five years ago the trend in memorialization were:
l. One stop shop
2. Cremation
3. Complete services
In my opirion, the following shall be the trend:
l. The trend is toward cheaper and products and services for the masa. Hence, direct cremation will be in demand;
2. There is a new business model - the high rise body and ash crypts building as the La Loma cemetery.
3. Suppliers are dealing directly with private memorial park operators. They are doing joint venture with churches because the church can obtain permits. Municipalities are new threats because they build more ash crypts and invest in crematorium
The memorial park by private business is under severe threat from these trends.
