Significance of the Celebration of All Saints Day

The #memorial experts

November 1, 2016

Today November 1 is All Saints Day (All Hallow's day)  This is a celebration for the Christians to remind us of the depth and breadth of Christians who came before us. and all the saints of Christendom throughout the world.   In the discernment of a famous Filipino preacher, those who were canonized (declared as Saints by Vatican) and those who became Christians during the early ties. Their work, enabled the Christian religion to be what it is now.

It is a time too for most Filipinos to remember the deeds and the lives, laughter, love and legacy of the departed loved ones.  Today as we visit their memorials today (the tombstone the marker) we are reunited once more with their memories.

It is a fiesta of sort where we celebrate life, our lives and their lives that we connect.   We are not what we are now without our parents.  Thus in memorial park we celebrate life.   As our loved ones go to other life in a journey.

It is a time for reunion.   Our loved ones come home from abroad and from elsewhere in the country to celebrate the memories of our dearly departed.

But not many will be visiting the cemeteries and memorial parks.  Others have visited their loved ones last Sunday, and yesterday to avoid the maddening crowd and traffic.

Happy All Saints Day

Not too many visitors (still early?)

                                         Hindi pa matrapik?

Even the public cemetery is not crowded

Disposing of the garbage post All Saints Day is a nightmare
It could take a week disposing all of them

Holy Gardens Memorial Park - A Special Place where our Loved Ones are Remembered in a Special Way

Angono Rizal PHL  March 31, 2013

We treasure memories of saints who led examplary and heroic lives and who even became martyrs.  We do not make them substitutes for God but are merely iconic examples of examplary lives. This is the same thing we do with our loved ones - to venerate their memories and make the story of the lives remembered through the ages through memorialization  We try to help do that at Holy Gardens Group.
