We planned to have simple All Saints Day celebration: the usual thing: repainting the curbs, manning the booth, signage, food for the guests and volunteers. Still hefty budget. We planned to have sales campaign as main activity.
However at the last minute as late as Friday last week, three SBUs Calamba, La Union and Pangasinan requested fireworks. By popular request daw. So at the last minute we canvassed for the fireworks. We canvassed LF in Bulacan, and Dragon. The average price was P10,000 per minute Para di bitin, dapat 5 minutes And lo behold via FB, we contacted SIE Jason and sent his men (he is in Canada) They presented their packages and it turned out that they had the best package and affordable. We said yes and had a contract for P110,000 (that included out of the town expenses)
They fired simultaneously last night at 7:00 pm. The SBUs have not submitted their videos yet. It must have looked this way: (from You Tube)
We agreed to fireworks though very expensive and somewhat wasteful because that is the kind of unusual extreme treat that our customers wanted. It was a way of thanking them for a relatively good year, for their continuous support despite our certain weaknesses. And a way of celebrating family reunion, togetherness with the departed loved ones, in a special place called Holy Gardens
"Remembering our loved ones in a SPECIAL PLACE in a SPECIAL WAY. Network of memorial parks, crematorium and ash crypts. Various forms of memorialization to make our memorial service unique and special

Holy Gardens Calamba
I visited the wake of mother Ms. Mila Manaig and we discussed the possible improvements of the flower arrangement: At her service (almost 150,000) there should be fresh flowers daily, not only of repair. Her idea of excellent service is that of Ace In Calamba. The flowers are full at the bottom of casket:

We should spray insecticides to control the ants, and polish the metal of the caskets daily (to be done by the attendants)
Can we benchmark the above for P150,000 packages?
2. Let us read refer to this site and publication which we researched so hard.

What is memorialization and why is it important?
1. What is memorialization?
It is perpetuating the memories. of deceased loved ones. It is keeping alive his lifes accomplishment in the minds of people who lived with him/her and whom she/he served. It is done via structures and events. For heroes, we build monuments and name buildings, parks and other public places. That is for younger generation to remember the hero, and his accomplishment and contribution to the nation.
Well that is for heroes. What about the ordinary man?
2. What does memorialization cover:
Love: his girlfriend, his wife. husband, children, grandchildren, in laws
Laughter - his hobbies, entertainment, sports, recreation
Labor - his schooling, his suffering in life, his work, his profession
Legacy - his achievements in life, his quotes, his "pabaon" to his heirs
