This is a because of the Gospel today which is the multiplication of the 5 loaves of bread and fish for the 5,000 who followed Jesus Christ to the Sea of Galilee Gospel for the Seventeenth Sunday in Ordinary time
Related too to the parable of the talents. There is so much abundance in this world. Not poverty or scarcity. Yet many people think negatively and wallow in poverty and backwardness. The Gospel inspires to think of abundance.
Scarcity vs Abundance Mentality
This was the Homily at Sunday/s TV mass today. Abundancce vs Scarcity, on the latest book on said topic.
Abundance mentality means we think that there is enough for all, there runs a river and spring of plenty in the world It talks about being positive
Scarcity constantly thins of shortage, none, WALA (as many of us think) wala nang magawa, walang benta, kulang ang resources. Scarcity talks about the animal instinct acting in us. The lower brain rather than the cortical brain. 95% of the world population are in the dark side. Of scarcity
But many people are espousing abundance:
1. Energy - renewable energy sun and wind should be the in thing because they are cheaper than coal. But look at PHL... In many countries, solar and wind are becoming the main cheap source of power. Cost of renewable dropping; solar and wind now at parity with coal
2. TESLA chair Elon Musk promises that the TESLA electric car will not cost a dime more for the users in terms of charging. He will set up free charging station TESLA to provide free charging stations at offices parking
3. Jeff Bezos will give away free cellphones so that more people can access Amazon. Amazon reported to be giving away free smart phones
4. Musk to launch many (4,000)satellites to provide free internet to the world
From science page How Ellon Musk Spacex will provide free internet to the planet
From scarcity to abundance of free
5 Illiteracy has been almost wiped out in the world
6. Extreme poverty has been reduced from 94% of the worlds population in 1990 to only 10% wow.
